In order to excel at 2-7 single draw poker play, the poker player must change their way of thinking when it comes to a winning hand. The best possible hand in lowball poker is 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 of different suits. The example hand is a surefire winner because it has the lowest possible score, with the seven as the high card. No other player could produce a lower scoring hand. Like regular games of poker, if two or more players have a similar low hand, the lowest high card will win the hand. If a dealt hand exceeds the number of cards in the deck, the discarded cards from re-draws and folded player’s hands will be reshuffled in order to complete the current hand. No Alcohol

Of course alcohol and poker goes hand in hand, but the more that you imbibe, the greater the risk that you will make common “rookie” mistakes.  Don’t be the player who makes foolish decisions because you’re under the influence of alcohol.  You are playing to win, and want to have fun at the same time.  So if you are going to play for money, it is wisest to keep the alcohol to a minimum or drink a soda, water, or other non-alcoholic beverage while playing.
